There’s been a lot of talk about Safari Content Blocking since WWDC. I’ll admit that in Safari on my mac, I run an ad blocker. Whilst I wish I didn’t have to, it’s become a necessity. Ads on the web have gotten so bad it’s either an ad blocker or my sanity. I chose the former.
Craig Tanimoto was a Senior Creative at Chiat\Day when, in 1997, Apple was in trouble and approached them for a new ad campaign.
As per usual, a lot of content got published in the hours following this year’s WWDC. Here’s a roundup of what I found particularly interesting:
During Apple’s usual WWDC website update, the iPod was relegated to the bottom of the new music page and removed completely from both the navigation and the home page. It seems clear to me that, whilst the iPod has played a big part in Apple’s history and will always hold a special place in any Apple fan’s heart, it has no place in the company’s vision for the future. WWDC isn’t a physical-product-update event but I would have liked to see a clean cut death for the iPod rather than what they seem to be doing which is dragging out the inevitable.
